As the voice of working people, our Union promotes their interests in the community and at national and international forums. We speak out forcefully for our members to employers, governments and the public to ensure the rights of workers are protected and expanded.

 

LIUNA Local 3000 defends and promotes the principles of democracy and equality and holds true to the ideal of human rights for all.

LiUNA Local 3000 offers its union members and immediate family members two scholarships of one thousand dollars ($1000) each. The scholarship opportunities are offered every spring with scholarship applications due by May 31st of each year.

 

The Members’ Memorial Scholarship honours members that were active in the Union and the labour movement prior to their passing.

 

The Vince Vocal Scholarship is awarded in the name of the founding President of the Canadian National Federation of Independent Unions. Vince Vocal took the idea of combining the resources of a number of small independent unions to create a larger federation of unions. After years of dedication and hard work, and through CNFIU’s affiliation in 1998 with LiUNA, Vince’s vision has evolved into the entity we know today as LiUNA Local 3000.
